Hair: Tangle Teezers

The Tangle Teezer is one of the few products turned down by the Dragons of Dragon's Den to go on and become a huge success - without them. Born in 2005, the Tangle Teezer received its big break within 2009, as the market woke up to the revolutionised invention. Now 2014, the Tangle Teezer has won an array of industry awards, a Queen's award for enterprise and hosts many celebrity fans, including Victoria Beckham and Cara Delevingne.

So what is the Tangle Teezer?

Put simple, the Tangle Teezer is a hairbrush. However, inventor Shaun has reinvented the hairbrush, creating patterned teeth and three uniquely created brushes to help at all stages of the haircare routine.

Prep
For the tangles after shampooing, the Aqua Splash. It's upright, non-slip and water-friendly making it perfect for the shower.

Preen
To complete the look after styling, the Salon Elite. Large in size and shaped to fit in the hand - the Salon Elite glides through the hair and detangles easily and softly.

Polish
For touch-ups and day-to-day brushing, the Compact Styler. Smaller in size, perfect shape to glide in your hand and comes with a protective cover to ensure the teeth don't attract fluff and dirt when thrown in a bag on the go!

Aqua Splash, Salon Elite, Compact Styler

Skipping the prep stage, due to never brushing my hair in the shower, I purchased the Salon Elite (in blue with pink teeth) and the Compact Styler (in Shaun the Sheep design - who can resist?)

My verdict? After only two weeks using the brushes I am a fan! The patterned teeth are perfect on the hair, they don't pull, they don't hurt and are really effective at getting tangles out. A key result of this softer approach to detangling hair is less breakages!
The Salon Elite is the perfect shape for sorting out hair after styling has caused some knots to occur. The curved design allows the brush to fit perfectly into the palm of your hand, which gives you more control and as someone with thick hair - the shape is perfect for making sure the brush gets through the thickness.

The compact styler has been designed perfectly for styling on the go. Similar to the Salon Elite, the Compact Styler is shaped to fit into your palm but is slightly smaller but none-the-less does the job just as well. The protective cover is perfect for keeping the style safe when in a bag and is simply removed to ensure quick use when needed.

The efficiency gains within brushing are not the only positives of the Tangle Teezer. Since using the brush I have found my hair to be a lot softer. Furthermore, thanks to the patterned teeth and their gentle approach to tangles, I have experienced less breakages allowing my hair to maintain its blunt cut.

Considering you can purchase hairbrushes at £1 within Primark, these are quite pricey. However, I would definitely recommend spending the money. The improved condition of my hair since using the brushes have been well worth the money I spent. However, for those who are short on money and are picking one style to purchase - I would recommend the compact styler. The benefits of the salon elite are included but with the addition of being perfect to carry around.

Have you tried out the tangle teezer? What do you think?
